S.L. Scott has done it again with this holiday novella. A relatable heroine, a Paris fling, and a sexy French guy? That’s all I need. Out of all S.L. Scott’s characters, Kandace is probably the one I relate to most. And that only made the reading experience more enjoyable. It’s hard to find likeable heroines these days. She thinks she has her life all mapped out, but she can’t oppress her spontaneity. She ends up in Paris for her birthday before she has to go on with the rest of her planned life. What she doesn’t expect (and what we all dream of) is to meet Olivier. Olivier oozes sexuality and confidence, but with all that comes danger—the danger of falling for him and his French accent. They share a room at the hostel Kandace stays at. Their attraction and sexual chemistry can’t be denied. And since this is a novella, it doesn’t take long for them to give in to their desires. Thank god, because they are off the charts hot. But, what happens when it’s time for Kandace to go back to the U.S.? It’s more than whether or not she should stay with Olivier. It’s whether or not she should go back to her life where she risks going through empty motions or staying in Paris with Olivier and getting to live a life colored in love. There’s more to this little story than the cute characters, the sexy scenes, and the Paris theme. My only complaint is that I want more. More, more, and more. Always.“Stay here with me. I read this book in about an hour and a half, it's a quick but beautiful and sexy read. Olivier and Candace had such amazing chemistry, and it took place in Paris, France, how much more romantic can it get?
This was a very short, yet sweet tale. I liked how they met. How they enjoyed each other. The twist. And, a very sweet ending. I would've enjoyed more of these two.
Suzie wrote such a cute little story about a two people that seem to have a simple story, but it is anything but simple. They're just adorable in every sense. It's short and sweet, and worth every minute! C'est la vie!
Sometimes you need a really sweet and whimsical story to cleanse your palate. Lost in Translation is that perfect story. I loved these characters and the way the plot flowed like the most wonderful of French wines. Did I mention it was perfect?
A fun read! I was lucky to help the authour along the way, when she was working on the novella. S.L. Scott is a talented woman that invests herself 100% in the stories she writes. Her characters are lovable yet very credible. Lost in Translation brought me back to Paris, to wonderful moments I spent there with my husband.
Go ahead, dive into this book with joie d'vivre in your heart and get ready to be transported to the Old Continent.
Lost in Translation by SL Scott is one of those reads that is perfect for a lazy Saturday afternoon! It’s a fun, enchanting and sexy novella. It’s one of those stories that you compare to candy; it’s sweet, it’s satisfying and you eat it up! SL Scott does a wonderful job of telling a love story while taking the reader on a tour of Paris. I felt like I was walking down the Champs Elysses while reading about Kandace learning that there is more to life than work and commitments, all while falling in love with a Frenchman. The story was the perfect little French escape and the author packed quite a complete story in just 89 pages that is full of emotion. If you love Paris, sexy Frenchmen and romance, this is the perfect delightful read!
As always, S.L. Scott has given us the perfectly constructed tale that's full of romance, drama, and sexy encounters.
Kandace is visiting Paris for the first time. She's in college, and she was a very easy heroine for me to connect with. She's almost "starstruck" with Paris, and when she meets Olivier—the sexy Frenchman who shares the room at the hostel with her—she finds herself falling in love with more than just the city.
This was a fun read and it was clear that Scott took time make sure all of the details about the location were accurate and realistic. Olivier's French speaking made me swoon, and even though this is a short story, Scott made me fall in love with the characters and tied up all of the loose ends. Scott doesn't leave readers hanging, but provides an ending that is just as lovely as the words she's penned for us.
An added bonus -- the schmexy times in this book are hot, hot, hot! Lots of incredible chemistry and fireworks of the good sort.
Pick this up if you're looking for a fast, fun, and easy read. It'll leave you smiling from ear-to-ear when you're finished.
